TAMPA, FL — Tampa International Airport has changed the game with airport shops and restaurants, bringing fashion, local food favorites and even beer brewed on-site.

Did know you could get merchandise from your favorite team or a cocktail that only TPA has? Check out the nine things you didn't know existed at TPA.

1. Local sweets (pastries and chocolates)

Got a sweet tooth? Tampa Bay is full of local brands - from Toffee To Go for decadent, rich toffee bits to Casis’ sweet, flaky pastries. Check out The Shoppes at Bayshore in the main terminal, illy Caffe on airsides E and F and the newsstands at the airport to snag a sweet treat.

Bucs, Rays, Lightning or college sports fan? This is Champa Bay, so it’s only right that TPA has a sports essentials super store called Tampa Bay Sports smack dab in the main terminal.

Food-lovers, rejoice. In recent years, the foodie scene in Tampa Bay has exploded, bringing new and renowned restaurants to the area. Tampa International Airport is no exception. Nearly 40 percent of TPA’s restaurants are local, including Ducky's, Bay Coffee & Tea, Cigar City Brewing, Burger 21, RumFish Grill, PDQ, Ulele, Goody Goody, Cafe Con Leche, Bavaro's, Square 1, Columbia Cafe, Four Green Fields and The Cafe by Mise en Place (which are now open daily.) Wanting to try a local beverage? Get some hops brewed on-site at Cigar City Brewing on Airside F.

6. Jewelry and serious fashion

TPA is home to trendy attire like Tommy Bahama and Ron Jon and chic accessories from designer sunglasses to watches and more. The Shoppes at Bayshore (main terminal) has all you’ll need to style-up and show-out for your vacation. Looking for some bling? Swarovski at Airside F will keep you shining even when you leave the Sunshine State.

7. An Airport Signature Cocktail

Just two short years ago, Tampa International Airport brought together local drink masters to craft a cocktail, only available at TPA. Orange, guava and rum bring the Spirit of Flight to life with a sprig of mint and slice of orange to top it off.

8. Spanx and Athleisure

Tights, capris, undergarments and more - get your shapewear pre-flight at Airside C from Tampa Bay native Sarah Blakely's widely known Spanx store. Looking for something comfy for the flight? Try Nike, Puma, Under Armour and more at The Runway in the main terminal.

Forgot your headphones? Don't fret. TPA carries electronic products from brands like Bose, Sony, Beats and Monster in stores across the airport. Visit Tech on the Go in the main terminal at airsides F or C, InMotion at Airside A or InTune Airside E.

During the pandemic, TPA saw a large decrease in passengers, causing the airport to close many shops and restaurants. Today, nearly 90 percent of TPA's shops and restaurants have reopened and are ready to serve passengers and guests.
